This week we have been asked by many of you about housing for next year and also for accommodation over the Christmas Vacation. Please see this information below:
Christmas vacation accommodation
If you are living within our catered halls, then your contract is term time only and you will therefore need to vacate for the Christmas vacation. For those of you who are not going to be returning home during this period then we do have some self-catered residences available.
The self-catered rooms which will be available will be for the full period of 12 December 2015 – 3 January 2016. Please come in to one of our drop-in sessions within The Forum (via SID) between 10:00am-4:00pm Monday to Friday to enquire about our availability.
Housing for next year
Many of you want to know about your accommodation options for September 2016 and where to look for private housing. The Students’ Guild are holding their annual Housing Fair on Tuesday 12 January 2016. This date is also when our full list of private housing becomes available on our StudentPad website. Please do come along because you will have the opportunity to meet with landlords to arrange viewings and see what some of the larger providers have to offer also. Members of The Students’ Guild and Accommodation Office will also be on hand to answer any questions you may have.
The Students’ Guild have created a handy timeline to update you about what you need to be thinking about and and when. Use the next few weeks to decide whereabouts in the city you would like to live and also whether you wish to live with your flatmates, coursemates orby yourself.
For more information about this please visit our returning students webpages.
Staff and students are invited to have a two course turkey Thanksgiving lunch (vegetarian Nut Roast option available) on Thursday 26 November 2015 at The Terrace, Devonshire House between 12:00-2:00pm. The price is £6.00 in advance for students or £7.00 on the day and £6.50 for staff in advance or £7.50 on the day.
Advance tickets are available online or from SID in The Forum until Monday 23 November. For further information please visit the events pages.
