Good morning everyone,

Today’s blog is here to address some frequently asked questions from the past week. We’re hoping that you’re all getting exciting to arrive!

I haven’t received an offer yet, should I be worried?

If you applied before the 31st of July 2021 and are covered by our guarantee. You will receive an offer from us by the end of the day today (25th August) If you do not hear from us and you did apply within the guarantee, we would advise that you give us a call so that we can have a look into the situation for you. If you applied outside of the guarantee deadline then we are unlikely to be able to offer you accommodation and we suggest that you start looking in the private sector. We have contacted private providers to make sure that they still have rooms available via direct let and there are still properties being advertised on Studentpad and other private search engines.

I’m unhappy with my offer, what can I do?

Unfortunately, we haven’t been able to give everyone one of their preferences due to high demand. In this instance we have looked at your application as a whole and have then tried to offer you the next best alternative that we have. If there is a legitimate reason (for example medical suitability) that you cannot accept your offer, we would suggest that you get in contact with us to discuss this. If your offer is not what you expected and you are disappointed, we suggest that you get in contact with us once you have settled into your new room. It may be that after a couple of weeks you have made friends and despite not being the accommodation that you expected, you can’t imagine being anywhere else! If you are really unhappy then we can look into a room move for you later on in the term.

How do I book an arrival?

Our arrivals booking system has been down over the past couple of weeks so students have not been able to book their time slot. However, our booking system will re-open today. Please log in to your accommodation account and follow the instructions under ‘my application and booking’ The main arrivals period for 2021/22 will be Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 September 2021. Arrivals on Friday 10 September may be possible for UPP residences.

 

How do I order things to my room without my room number?

We try to discourage students ordering items to their rooms prior to arrival as our receptions do not have a large amount of space. However, if you do need to order an item and do not have your room number, please order the item to your residence reception under your name. Upon arrival, they will be able to find your item.
