Call for Organisers

The Annual Meeting of Postgraduates in Ancient History provides postgraduates with the opportunity to gain experience presenting their work and to network with peers. This year, AMPAH expanded from the traditional 1 day format, and the conference was held via Zoom, complete with virtual reception!

Potential organisers should be postgraduate students in ancient history (broadly defined) or a related subject at a university, and should have the support of their respective departments/ faculties. We would particularly encourage applications from institutions that have not hosted AMPAH in recent years. We are happy to provide guidance to the next organisers on how to host an online or hybrid event following the success of AMPAH 2020/21.

Proposals should be no more than 1000 words and address the following:

  • An introduction to your department and host location (whether you plan on holding it in person/virtually or a mixture of both)
  • Possible keynote(s)
  • Commitment to accessibility
  • Consideration of sustainability
  • Estimated costs and potential funding options

We understand that many of these things will be preliminary at this stage.

If you would like to get a sense of how this year’s conference went, you can look at our twitter: @AMPAHistory

Proposals for organising AMPAH 2022 should be sent to . The deadline for proposals is 30th April 2021.
