Maddy Geen “Apprentice of the Year” at Exeter College Apprentice Awards 2018 - Apprenticeships

Posted by on 22 February 2018

Maddy Geen, Business Administration Apprentice in UEMS, (pictured above) was announced as a winner for ”Business Administration Apprentice of the Year” at the Exeter College Apprentice and Employer Awards 2018 last night.

The Awards Ceremony, held at Sandy Park on 22 February 2017, celebrated the achievement of Exeter Colleges amazing Apprentices and the incredible continuous support shown from their employers.

She was nominated by her Exeter College skills tutor who said

“Maddy fits well in a professional office environment and understands clearly the importance of her presentation and conduct.  She quickly found her feet within her team, and since then has been an active and effective contributor.”

Her citation read:

“Working in the University of Exeter Medical School as a PA to the College Registrar, Maddy’s confidence has grown hugely since completing her Level 2 qualification and progressing onto Level 3.  Her employer says, “We feel exceedingly fortunate to have selected and secured Maddy as a member of our team. Her willingness and diligence has been a significant help in gluing our team together”.

Becky Jones, Maddy’s line manager, added

“Maddy joined the team just over 12 months ago as a “basic grade” administration apprentice. This was her first full-time job out of school following her A levels and she was 18 when she joined. From the outset she worked hard to complete the tasks assigned to a high standard and to stretch her skills in all directions.  Maddy fits in well in a professional office environment and understands clearly the importance of her presentation and conduct.  She is punctual, conscientious, hardworking and productive.”

“we feel exceedingly fortunate to have selected and secured Maddy as a member of our team.  All our senior colleagues know they can turn to Maddy with confidence for assistance of any kind, if their regular assistant is unavailable or occupied.  Her adaptability has led directly to thanks for the whole team from colleagues elsewhere who have received her assistance with their events held in our locality, or when she has covered responsibilities for other members of the team.”
