Helen Beetham

“Helen has been researching Digital Literacies for four years, having led on the Learning Literacies in a Digital Age study for the JISC, and written Thriving in the 21st Century as one of its key outcomes. She has published and presented widely on digital literacies and was a collaborator on the successful ESRC seminar series Literacies in the Digital University.

Helen was also an adviser on the Supporting Learners in a Digital Age project and regularly leads national workshops for HE staff on Digital Literacy and other topics.  She is the editor of two volumes that have become standard texts in e-learning, Rethinking Learning for a Digital Age and Rethinking Pedagogy for a Digital Age (both from Routledge).

Her background is in the humanities. Having helped to design the Developing Digital Literacies programme, Helen is delighted to be joining the project team at Exeter and looks forward to working with staff across the institution to reflect on how scholarly practices are changing.”
