Guardian Live Chat on Authentic Assessment
‘For those of you who missed last week’s live chat, the discussion thread is available on the Guardian website. The distinguished panel, which included Richard Osborne from Exeter’s Collaborate project, discussed a number of issues relating to definitions of ‘authentic’ and ‘real world’ assessment and what they mean in different discipline contexts. There was certainly interest in Exeter’s ‘Dimensions of a work integrated assessment’ framework – a working model is available in the Design Studio’.
It was an interesting and wide-ranging session, and good because it moved into the realms of pedagogy as well as more theoretical understandings of learning.
