Welcome to the Craig Lab

Welcome to the blog for the Craig lab, University of Exeter. Our primary interest is in neural circuits, with a particular focus on unravelling the cellular circuitry through which different regions of the brain co-ordinate their activity across long distances. We work closely with the teams of Prof Andy Randall and Dr Jon Brown as part of the Exeter Applied Neurophysiology Group

An overview of the our work can be found here. In brief, we study neural circuits at both the local level and between brain regions, in health and disease, with a slant on inhibitory interneurons and, increasingly, development. We use a combination of anatomy, electrophysiology (in vitro and in vivo) and behaviour, with the usual complement of optogenetics / chemogenetics, viral tracing and using GM mice to target specific cell types.

We are always interested in developing new projects along this theme, so please get in touch if you would like to join us for an MSc/MRes, PhD or fellowship.
