The NEMO project looks at ways for revalorising mine waste for itsĀ further use. At Exeter we are using microorganisms to help metals dissolve (bioleaching) from a secondary mineral obtained from Terrafame (Finland) and help to create a more sustainable mining industry by diminishing the amount of waste produced.
