Clearing cookies

Browser cookies are pieces of data picked up from websites and stored on your web browser.  They are used by websites to record things about your browser activity.  Cookies are used to authenticate users who have logged in to a particular site.

While it is necessary to allow cookies on your browser, you may need to clear them if you are having problems logging in.  Messages like Proxy Error’ or The page isn’t redirecting properly or ‘This webpage has a redirect loop’ are all examples of problems which can often be fixed by clearing your cookies and cache.

If you are unsure how to do this then there is a short online video to talk you through the process.

In Internet Explorer this is done by going to Tools, Internet Options then click Delete where it says Browser historySelected Temporary internet files and website files, Cookies and website data and History.  Click Delete.  Remember to restart your browser afterwards.
