It’s January and we are at the turning point of wrapping up term 1 with exams and assessment and starting the new term. For some of you, this will be your final term at the University; for others, you’ll be embarking on film theory for the first time, or perhaps exploring adaptation on our level 2 options.

There are lots of exciting things on the horizo, and some tricky time ahead negotiating the current Covid-19 related restrictions. We want to reassure all our students that we are here to help you thrive, and that we cant wait to be back in the classroom (virtual / physical!) with you.

We are also interested to know what everyone’s been watching over the Christmas break. If there’s something you loved and are keen to debate, you can always get involved in Film Talk events this term. For my part, I spent the break obsessed with the series Ozark, rewatching Steve McQueen’s Widows for the upcoming EAF3106 Female Screens module, and inevitably crying over It’s a Wonderful Life.

Happy New Year, and we look forward to seeing you.

Lisa
