Hey everyone, I’m now back in Exeter after completing my placement at TUI UK&I. It did feel a little strange to be back at first with some of my friends having graduated and all of the new buildings on campus made it feel as though I was at a completely different university, but I am surprisingly really enjoying getting back into the routine of studying. To be completely honest, now that I’ve had a taste of the working world I can’t wait to get back into it. I loved the excitement of being in a position where I could really have a big impact on the company performance. I have probably said it before, but I do believe the most important thing when applying for a placement or a graduate job is to go for a company where you will have real impact and be truly valued.

Since completing a placement I now have a much clearer idea of what I’m looking for from an employer than I did before and because of this I have only applied to a small number of graduate schemes. I would recommend that whilst applying for your placement that you do the same as then you can really focus on the companies that you want and they will be able to tell that you are passionate about working there.

I haven’t got any specific type of company that I am exclusively applying to, I am just looking for a scheme where I love the company and the product/service they provide, with a high focus on level of training and responsibility.
