So, here we are again, kicking off a brand new term. Term 1 flew by and was about twice as hectic as I would have anticipated. I opted for a 5/3 module split so had coursework coming out of my ears, but that has freed up this term to crack on with my dissertation and to focus more time on one of the more challenging modules: Finance for Managers. I’d really advise giving a lot of thought as to the modules in which your chosen modules fall and their assessment methods, I tried to be as tactical as possible this year and so far it seems to be working out!

Coming back from a placement year definitely helped in some ways i.e. First and second year me didn’t quite understand that mornings existed, let alone how useful they actually are! Jokes aside, it has really helped me to organise my time better and power through to get things done on time. On the other hand, it does take a little bit of time and work to get your head back around academia; essay writing seemed completely alien, but like riding a bike, you get it back quickly enough.

Of course it’s final year for me now, so it’s time to start thinking about what’s next. Of course, this means half excitement for the future and half blind panic about the unknown. What do I want to do? Where do I want to do it? … Why do I want to do it? I honestly don’t know, but I’m starting to think that’s okay. I’m not expected a graduate role to be the be all and end all and I’m expected to find a path along the way.

On a more sensible note, I have an assessment centre with Motability Operations at the end of the month; I’ll let you know how it goes!

I hope that everyone’s term 1 went well and that your term 2 has got off to a good start – thanks for reading 🙂
