Generating business insights at Google: Fuji, One Planet MBA 2014 Graduate

Fuji has just graduated from our One Planet MBA with a Distinction, prior to which she had studied for a Bachelor of Science in International Business from Germany. She is half-Colombian and half-Japanese and has spent most of her life in Brazil. However, she left the country at the age of 18 to work and study in Germany, Singapore, then last year joined our MBA at Exeter.

After graduating from us last January, Fuji will join Google’s headquarters in Germany as an Industry Analyst. Her new role involves developing key insights and strategies for Google’s largest customers with the aim to complement their business intelligence and drive business performance.

She chose to work for Google after her studies because of its open and innovative culture, a culture we actively promote throughout our MBA experience. While taking her MBA with us, she became increasingly interested in social intrapreneurship. Now Fuji hopes to use Google’s entrepreneurial environment to become one herself and help the company become more sustainable in the long term. In fact, her broad understanding of sustainability was a plus factor for gaining her role, as this is an increasingly important trend for companies – with pionnering multinationals leading the way for the rest of the world to follow.

Entrepreneurial mindsets

Fuji’s research-oriented and creative position require strong analytical skills which the MBA helped her sharpen through its extensive, collaborative and challenging course work. Her entrepreneurial mindset and project management skills acquired through her contribution to our unique Sustainability Challenge made Fuji the perfect fit with Google’s expectations for its MBA recruits.

With our MBA celebrating 25 years of excellence our MBA community is particularly strong. Find out more about what makes our students and alumni stand out on our website.
