Our Project

University can be fun and exciting yet fast-paced and stressful at times. As students, we acknowledge both the joyful and hectic moments at university. We believe that learning and practicing mindfulness can bring positive overall well-being benefits to everyone. Most importantly, being mindful can help students feel calm and at ease, which is extremely helpful in our education and deadline pursuits at University. We feel that mindfulness can be beneficial to help you stay focus and increase your productivity during this busy and stressful period! So, we hope our change project can help you and fellow students discover more about mindfulness as a wellbeing practice and understand the benefits of being in Now.

Our Work

Over seven weeks from September to November 2016, our team produced two resources for your to learning about mindfulness.

1. Radio Talk-show:

Hosted by our group mate, Cari, she spoke to two mindfulness experts, Dr Adarves-Yorno and Leonie Schueltke, from the Business School on their experiences and advices. This is a good starting point for you to know more on being mindful. Listen online.

2. Mindfulness Workshop:

We also hosted a workshop to enrich fellow students on mindfulness by introducing the concept and shared some interesting on-the-go techniques to practice mindfulness. Watch it online.

Future Plan

We hope that you would have started googling ‘mindfulness’. Spreading awareness for mindfulness to anyone is a challenging task. Mindfulness requires a long-term and regular practice; However, we wish that our project would help students be exposed to the benefits of being mindful.

We wish to deposit these resources for future reference so that change agents who are interested in further developing this project to bring forward this legacy of leading change on mindfulness.

Perhaps, let us be a starting stone to create a culture of mindfulness in Exeter.

If you’re interested to learn more and would want to speak to anyone of us, feel free to drop us a message!
