First batch of content

A couple of weeks ago, I emailed out some material from a course included in our OER programme to the author, along with some guidelines as to what to check for when reading through (http://docs.google.com/View?docID=ddt448xk_0fc3kjxjr&revision=_latest).

Then last week, I received my first batch of marked up content. The author had dutifully marked which photos he had taken and when (and sometimes of what and where) and if they could be included. He had also highlighted some images that were not suitable and should be removed but suggested some alternatives.

Some of the text had been marked up to avoid any IPR issues involving quotes from other sources but overall, the teaching material was very similar to the original. I’ve now written the changes up and finalised the document, running it through the W3C HTML validator and starting on a document to describe the process: http://docs.google.com/View?id=ddt448xk_3gdzqhnft.

Quite probably, this will be the easiest material that I receive for the OER programme at Exeter… but it’s nice to have made a start.
