A new video introduction to synthetic biology and the iGEM competition has made its way online and though it mainly features the NRP-UEA iGEM team, I’m of course pleased to say that the good folks of the Exeter iGEM team have managed to work their way in there too

Just sneaking in before wiki freeze, the team from Norwich Research Park – University of East Anglia (NRP-UEA iGEM 2012) also managed a product launch: Quanticare Cura Tattoo.

For those in London next week, University College London are hosting a synthetic biology exhibition and Q&A session. 

Friday saw the nine UK iGEM teams meet up at Google Campus, London to share their projects ideas, progress so far and also do a spot of iGEM networking (oh, and check out the competition of course). The event was streamed live and the videos have now been made available here.

Things have been quiet here recently, partly due to paper writing but also supervision the University’s first iGEM team – have I mentioned their blog and wiki?

There’s a lot of interest (including at the Beeb) in a new paper from Drew Endy published in PNAS: rewritable digital data storage in live cells via engineered control of recombination directionality.
