There’s a new report in Science, “a logic-gated nanorobot for targeted transport of molecular payloads” from Shawn Douglas, Ido Bachelet and George Church with plenty of coverage, including Nature, New Scientist and SynBio champion the Daily Mail. There is also an accompanying video (below).

Tune in to BBC2 on Tuesday 7th Feb @ 9pm to see University of Exeter Plant Science on the telly!  This first episode of a new three-part series, “How To Grow A Planet“, features an experiment I performed especially for the programme, which aimed to visualise communication between plants.

In the first post of this series I looked at the last three winners of the iGEM Grand Prize: University of Washington, Team Slovenia and the University of Cambridge. In the second post I shall cover three imaginative iGEM projects which set out to produce useful materials in novel ways; namely Blood, Bone, and Concrete.

Here’s a typically scary interesting story from the Daily Mail. The article asks: could synthetic biology lead to mind hackers? (Whilst I was surprised that the Mail was aware of synthetic biology, I was even more surprised that there was no mention of whether or not synthetic biology causes or cures cancer).
