Ankasa, Ghana: Lightning Project Update

Electrical Resistivity Measurements in Ankasa, Ghana

We have been back in the field establishing the new 50 ha plot in Ankasa, Ghana. I have also been helping out Silvio Stivanello with the electrical resistivity measurements on the sample trees. As you might have guessed, I am not the one who should be taking credit for the work! That goes to Dr Stephen Adu-Bredu and his fantastic team from FORIG and the rangers, and to Silvio from Cardiff Uni.

Physicist and modellers take note! Not all trees look like lollypops! (Well, I know you all knew that anyhow, but the stilted root system of this Uapaca heudelotii provides a really good illustration)
