One of the things we’ll be looking at is how to enhance our Google Earth presence. This has obvious benefits in terms of internationalisation – after all, students will want to know where they’ll be studying – but what’s much more interesting is the ability to layer on this all sorts of other data, which is where the semantic web comes in. Once we start to generate data flows from our deeper contexts that are geotagged then it’s easy to envisage a future scenario whereby even modules and courses become apparent within a Google Earth environment.
I firmly believe that in an infinite virtual world the ability to bring what it is you offer to as many virtual spaces as possible cannot be understated.
