And we’re off…!

Are you an Erasmus/Exchange student joining the University of Exeter for semester two between January – June 2015? If so, then the applications for accommodation opened as of Monday 10 November 2014. Students studying in semester two can apply to stay at our James Owen Court residence. For more information on how to make an application, please visit our website.

We have received a number of enquiries from students who are currently in catered accommodation, looking to stay on campus during the Christmas vacation (13 December 2014 – 4 January 2015). Please come and visit us within The Forum (via SID) Monday-Friday between 10:00am-4:00pm or email us at: to register your interest in applying for a room for this period. Please note that the accommodation options available will be self-catered rooms only for a minimum contract length of four weeks. Please take a look at our moving out pages for information on departure dates.

We are only two Wednesday’s in to November but in two weeks time, some of our students will be getting excited for the very next day. Thursday 27 November is Thanksgiving and is usually celebrated in the USA on the fourth Thursday of November. It is a national holiday celebrated primarily in the USA and Canada, among other places and is recognised as a day to give thanks for the blessing of the harvest and to celebrate the year gone by.  This year, why not celebrate the occasion at our Thanksgiving Lunch at The Terrace, Devonshire House. The event is taking place between 12:00pm-2:00pm and tickets are available from the Student Information Desk from now until Monday 24 November. Book quickly to avoid disappointment.

If you are available before the Thanksgiving Lunch, then why not support the University of Exeter Americal Football Club as they play touch football between 11:00am-12:00pm on the piazza outside The Great Hall? There is even the opportunity to have a go yourself. Oh and in typical British fashion, if the weather is poor, then this will be played at The Sports Park.

Next week’s blog will be about housing for next year, so make sure you check in with us then to see what options are available.
