How long is a waiting list?

HousingWe had a number of applications from current students wishing to stay within our returners accommodation for 2015/16. Last week, offers were sent to successful applicants* and unsuccessful applicants were informed that their details would be held on our waiting list should any studio rooms become available.

Were you an unsuccessful applicant? Are you now thinking ‘well just how long is this waiting list?’ I’m afraid to say that there isn’t a definitive answer to this question. It all depends on how many students accept or reject their offers of accommodation to know what could become available and we are still receiving applications from students who wish to stay with us next year. Please rest assured that as soon as a studio becomes available within our returners accommodation we will notify those at the top of our waiting list and will notify them accordingly.

If you have not been offered University accommodation, we advise that you secure for accommodation within the private sector through Studentpad. There is still plenty of accommodation available and properties are still getting added each week (and probably will be up until September 2015). Make sure you utilise the Studentpad Messageboard and the University Noticeboard to see if any students are looking for housemates to join them within their houses.

*Please note that those students who have applied with a supported AccessAbility or medical application will be provided with an update by the end of this week about their accommodation.

If any of you have any questions about your accommodation please do come and see us within The Forum (via SID). We are available Monday to Friday between 11:00am-3:00pm.
