Looking for housing?

We understand that there are still some students who are looking for private housing for 2016/17. This week we are looking at all of the different search options available to you and what is happening within the University over the next week:

Private housing
There are still properties and rooms available on the housing list for 2016/17 which can be accessed by visiting the Studentpad website. Our private housing webpages also provide you with advice and information about searching privately. Our website provides links to larger providers within the city centre who have rooms available, similar to university halls, on a sole occupancy basis.

Finding room mates?
Studentpad website has a ‘room mate finder’ facility where you can register your details in order to find other students who are looking to share private housing. So if you are struggling to find other housemates then check out how to become a sharer or find sharers by logging in to the Studentpad Message Board. We also recommend that you post an advert or look through current adverts on the University Noticeboard.

University accommodation for returning students
Students who applied for returners accommodation will be notified as to whether they have been successful by no later than Friday 5 February. Please keep an eye on your email account as all offers will be emailed to you. Successful applications are required to have a £300.00 deposit available and will have 5 days in which to accept/reject the offer.

Guild Elections
This week is all about the Students’ Guild Sabbatical Nominations running until 4:00pm today (Thursday). Maybe you are interested in nominating yourself or someone you know for one of the positions. Voting week will commence from Monday 8 – Friday 12 February 2016.

Temporary Closure of the Market Place
The Forum Market Place will be temporarily closed from 5.00pm on Friday 29 January in order to allow a refit so a new retailer can open in the summer term. It will re-open and continue to offer a range of items on the morning of Monday 1 February.

During the weekend of 30/31 January, the Students’ Guild shop based in Devonshire House will be extending its opening hours as follows:

  • Friday 29 January: Open until 22:00
  • Saturday 30 January: 08:00-18:00
  • Sunday 31 January: 10:00-16:00
