A large number of landlord adverts went live on the Studentpad website during November 2016 for those advertising their accommodation within the city for 2017/18. Since the beginning of January, we have received enquiries from private landlords who are still wishing to advertise their accommodation for the next academic year. This means that there is still availability within the city and surrounds. Please see the information below on where to look and what support is available:
Accommodation in the city
There are currently over 45 Studentpad adverts now live which range from purpose-built halls of residence to shared houses/flats within the city. These adverts also include properties which have been Afs/Unipol accredited. Further information and advice on where to look can be found on our private housing webpages.
Do you want to find people to live with?
Are you looking for an extra person to fill a perfect house? Maybe you’re looking for a group of like-minded people to live with next year? Studentpad has a ‘sharers’ facility whereby you can register your details in order to find other students who are looking to share private housing. If you are struggling to find other housemates then check out how to become a sharer or find sharers by logging in to the Studentpad Message Board. We also recommend that you post an advert or look through current adverts on the University Noticeboard.
The Students Guild also have a Flatmate Finder event taking place on Tuesday 17 January between 7:00pm-8:30pm at Pieminister. These events are a friendly and open environment for you to meet fellow students who are also looking for a flatmate. Why not pop along and say ‘hi’?
How do I check my contract/tenancy agreement?
The Students Guild Advice Unit offer a free contract-checking service. You can send an electronic to the team via email at: or alternatively drop by and visit them on Level +1 of the Forum adjacent to Devonshire House. They are open between 10:00am-3:00pm Monday to Friday. For any other queries, please telephone them on 01392 723520.
