We are delighted to be part of this year’s Being Human Festival, an annual showcase of arts and humanities research across the UK. Funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council and the British Academy and hosted by the School of Advanced Study, London, the Being Human Festival aims to engage non-specialist audiences in academic research, bringing together academics and wider audiences.
Our event is on November 11, 2021 18:00-19:00 GMT. We’re holding a free, online interactive performance where you can watch a sneak preview of Natalie McGrath’s play, The Beat of Our Hearts. We will also be joined by LGBTQIA+ practitioners who will help lead a conversation about LGBTQIA+ loneliness and belonging in the South West. We hope the session will stimulate thinking about the value of theatre for exploring experiences of isolation and community in the South West.
The event is funded by the Wellcome Centre for Cultures and Environments of Health at the University of Exeter, and we are very grateful to them for supporting us.
To find out more, please visit our event page on the Being Human website. You can book your place at the event there, as well.
