Congratulations to PGR Connor Sait, who won a poster prize at pOp3: The 3rd International Conference and Exhibition on Photonics and Opto Packaging. Connor’s poster was titled ‘All optical switching in transition metal synthetic ferrimagnetic multilayer systems with enhanced interlayer exchange coupling’.
Connor discusses his experience of the event:
I enjoyed my attendance of the pOp3 event organised by IMAPS-UK and the Torbay High Tech Cluster (THTC). Through the event I had the chance to tour the Electronics and Photonics Innovation Centre (EPIC) where many members of the THTC make use of R&D, manufacturing and device packaging equipment and capabilities. I was also able to tour the equally impressive educational facilities of their partners at the Hi Tech & Digital Centre within South Devon College. During the event I was able to meet and share my research with many friendly and interesting people part of both the local industry and wider network spanning the UK. Discussing my work, and learning more about the photonics industry was a great experience, and I was very pleased to receive the Best Poster Prize, awarded to me by IMAPS-UK and sponsored by Davies and Bell Ltd.
