Mount Kenya and a Disco

Day three with the Behavioural Ecology trip dawned to an early start and more travelling – taking the scenic route out of Samburu park we saw Martial and Tawny Eagles, Black Shouldered Kites, and a Greater Kestrel as well as Giraffes and Zebra.

Several hours later we arrived at Mt Kenya for lunch, which was interrupted and hastily relocated when a troop of baboons made an appearance. Once that was finished, a quick bus ride up was followed by a four hour hike down, encountering Parrots, Buffalo, Waterbuck and Colobus Monkeys as well as multitudes of Turakos.

The birders appeared to be having fun.

Another bus ride later we arrived at Naru Moro for the night, meeting up with the Conservation and Biodiversity group. After dinner was a fantastic series of cultural entertainment which eventually segued into a disco before bed, ready for another early morning.
