What were your main duties and responsibilities during the course of your internship?

The SCP role with the Business School Career Zone was diverse. It included advising WIE students throughout all years and organising and assisting with Careers Cafe sessions and employability workshops. Office-based responsibilities included database creation/organisation and organising employer events and fairs. I have also represented the Careers team at University events, open days, and employer events.

What would you say was your biggest achievement over the course of your internship?

I learnt how to create complex forms on the Career Hub booking system, allowing student attendance at events to be tracked fluidly and accurately throughout the term.

What benefits did your internship bring to your employer?

My placement within Technology Consulting gave me the skill set to assist with data/technology problems faced by the team. The work I undertook on the Career Hub booking system greatly improved student attendance tracking at events and significantly reduced the manual work involved with the process.

Did you encounter any problems during the course of your internship and if so, how did you overcome them?

The team were always fantastically supportive and understanding regarding university assignments.  If I ever found balancing working alongside studying they would always support me and reduce my workload.
