PR and Marketing Intern – Employment Services, University of Exeter

SCP, SBP, GBP, A2I, Marketing Internship

What were your main duties and responsibilities during the course of your internship?

My position involved helping to start a new programme called Access to Internships which required speaking to students, managing the marketing materials and giving students advice on how to get an internship and succeed in it. The position also included helping to write various press releases for a local newspaper and the University website. I also aided the creation of marketing materials for the other schemes run by Employment Services including posters, web pages and gimmicks for advertisement.

What would you say was your biggest achievement over the course of your internship?

The internship has helped me to gain new skills and gave me a taste of working in a PR and Marketing role which has influenced my future career choice. I enjoyed all the activities I engage in from writing press releases targeting the business community, to weekly emails to students.

What benefits did your internship bring to your employer?

I worked at a fast pace, taking the project from its infancy and being a crucial part of the success of the A2I scheme.
