Bringing you a mini list of 5 places to visit for a shop from a final year students Point of View.
The high street has a bit of everything and I have it on my mothers word that the go to bigger brands like: Zara and H&M, always have more in-store in stock products, as well as better discounts than in London. But here are 5 other spots for you to try.
1. TKMaxx
Hear me out, I know I know TK Maxx is a big store, so what is so special about it? Well as a bargain hunter myself when you are ready to put the time and commitment in, head over to TK Maxx – as especially in Exeter you will find great well priced buys in everything, from clothing, to dishes and little knickknacks that you need around the household. Also a great place to look for a nice gift.
2. Sobeys on Gandy street
Gandy street is Exeter’s very own Diagon alley. With lots of fun eclectic shops to visit. Located along here is Sobeys. A vintage clothing store with limited edition, reworked clothing – as creative seamstresses have products sold here. Who doesn’t love a cute but sustainable outfit.
3. Chococo
This is a new favourite of mine, which has made its way onto the list. Also located on Gandy Street is this little piece of chocolate heaven. Serving hot chocolates of different cocoa intensities with many topping options, alongside your teas and coffees, the baked goods are divine including your classic Scone. And this Dorset based company also sells chocolatey treats for you to gift or treat yourself.
4. Darts farm
A bus journey away or a quick drive over to Topsham brings you to Darts farm. A scenic place which serves as a nice day out offering :events, cafes, restaurants, a food hall, and lifestyle stores. Go grab an ice cream and have a wander around.
5. Exeter Vintage Kilo sale – Exeter Corn exchange
The Kilo sale really is what the label says. With tickets made available online when one is coming up, welcome to what can only be described as a top tier shopping experience. With donated clothes, and accessories -which are topped up all day – you’ll want to get there early, as no matter what the retail value every kilo is £20, with heavy coats and items being capped at the £20 mark.
The Quay and all its delicious cafe’s, restaurants, antique stores and Topsham Brewery, as well as Exeter’s weekly farmers market – every Thursday, deserve an honourable mention.
