The research fellows here within the Quantitative Biology and Medicine @ Exeter network have a very hard job – not only undertaking extremely complex projects, but then having to communicate their work to a massive spectrum of people including peers, advisors, patients and the public.
Condensing down a research paper or thesis to a small abstract is a skill in itself, and in the spirit of keeping things simple, I’ve undertaken a challenge to highlight a few topics from the QBME radar that have caught my attention as Research Centre Coordinator over the past week using just a haiku.
Here’s my week in summary!
Monday:
Public engagement,
New funds available now,
Silvia knows all.
Tuesday:
Hey academics,
Healthcare industry peeps too,
Visit and explore.
Wednesday:
Chocolate brownies,
Productivity increased,
Drop in to see us.
Thursday:
Just 4 weeks to go,
Seed corn projects – where to start?
Info event near.
Friday:
Basic secondment?
Or clinical secondment?
That is the question!
So now I extend the challenge – please do respond with haikus of your own! Whether it’s about your research focus, a career highlight, or your latest news, we’d love to hear from you.
