The Annual Meeting of Postgraduates in Ancient History (AMPAH) provides postgraduates with the opportunity to gain experience presenting their work and to network with peers. This year, AMPAH expanded from the traditional 1 day format, and the conference was held via Zoom, complete with virtual reception! There is scope to adapt the conference to formats which suit the organisers and the changing situation.
Potential organisers should be postgraduate students in any area of ancient history across the world (broadly defined, and not limited to Greek and Roman studies) or a related subject, at a university, and should have the support of their respective departments/ faculties. We would particularly encourage applications from institutions that have not hosted AMPAH in recent years. We are happy to provide guidance to the next organisers on how to host an online or hybrid event following the success of AMPAH 2020/21.
Proposals should be no more than 1000 words and you may want to include:
- An introduction to your department and host location (whether you plan on holding it in person/virtually or a mixture of both)
- Possible keynote(s)
- Commitments to sustainability and accessibility
- Estimated costs and potential funding options
We understand that many of these plans will be preliminary at this stage.
Proposals for organising AMPAH 2022 should be sent to . The deadline for proposals is 18th June 2021. We are very happy to have an informal online chat with any potential applicants.
