Siobhán Shilton is Senior Lecturer in French Studies at the University of Bristol. Her most recent articles focus on art exploring the ‘Arab Spring’. She has also published widely on postcolonialism and transnationalism in twentieth- and twenty-first-century art and literature from the French-speaking world. She is author of Transcultural Encounters: Gender and Genre in Franco-Maghrebi Art (Manchester University Press, 2013) and co-author (with Charles Forsdick and Feroza Basu) of New Approaches to Twentieth-Century Travel Literature in French: History, Genre, Theory (Peter Lang, 2006).
