Wheal Maid
Photos taken by Chris at Wheal Maid near Bissoe. Wheal Maid dates from the mid 1700’s and raised small amounts of tin, arsenic and lead ore. It was part of the Consolidated mines near St.Day and was once described as ‘the richest square mile in the Old World’. We plan to use the site to experiment with displacement reactions and also as a source of Pyritic rock samples.
