Joo Hou (Joshua) Ng is currently a PhD student based at the Social, Environmental and Organisational Research Group (SEORG), School of Psychology, University of Exeter, under the supervision of Prof Thomas Morton and Dr Teri Kirby. His PhD topic aims to examine the precise psychological mechanisms through which physical learning spaces in campus influence the psychological well-being and academic performance outcomes of minority university students (e.g. international students, LGBTQ students, students with working-class background), with their social identities as moderators, and potentially perceived restorativeness of space, stereotype threats, self-assertion, prejudice and discrimination as mediators.
