Emily Glover wins Best Contributed Paper at Rank Prize Symposium

Congratulations to third year PGR Emily Glover, who won Best Contributed Paper at Rank Prize Symposium on Parallels Between Acoustics and EM Radiation in Structured Materials at the end of October.

Emily says of the experience:

The symposium was an invite only event in the Lake District, to improve the links between the acoustic and EM radiation research communities, and show the parallels between these areas of research. I had the privilege of going, with David Tatnell and Beth Staples from the CDT. On the first day, we had a social activity of climbing up Alcock Tarn (fortunately it was sunny and dry!), which showed off the Lake District in all its autumnal beauty. There were fascinating talks every day, and the opportunity to talk and mingle with senior professors in both acoustics and EM radiation which can be difficult at larger, more traditional conferences.

Emily is presented the award by Prof. Miles Padgett
