Congratulations to our Oversight Board member Dr Ruth Voisey (Senior Machine Learning Engineer, Dyson), who was announced as one of the top 50 Women in Engineering (WE50) by the Sunday Telegraph on 24 June 2018.
The WE50 campaign aims to raise awareness of the skills shortage facing the industry and the huge discrepancy between the number of men vs. women currently in Engineering professions, to change perceptions and encourage young women to consider Engineering as a viable and rewarding career. For 2018, the theme was Returners or Transferrers. Nominations were available to women working in engineering or allied sector/discipline, having either returned after a break of at least 18 months or transferred to engineering from another sector.
