EUniTa Project

EUniTa is an extra-curricular peer training online platform for students and university members in order to support active conversational learning in one or more European languages which will incorporate all aspects of a professional language learning tool, including automatic matching of tandem partners, build-in video functions, timeline and calendar, and a wide range of language learning material. The project was launched in October 2015 and is funded by the European Union as part of the Erasmus+ Strategic Partnership Programme.

EUniTa offers the following innovative aspects:

  • Fully automatized matching of tandem partners

  • Learning material for BICS (basic interpersonal communication skills) and CALP (cognitive academic language proficiency) language skills

  • Professional language assessment and certification

  • Ongoing evaluation of participants´ language learning progress

  • User-friendly platform including timeline and video functions

  • Professional user support and feedback functions

The platform is being developed by seven university partners from the Universities of Exeter and Liverpool, the Universités Poitiers and Paris Sorbonne, the Universitat Blaquerna Ramon Lull Barcelona, the Università degli Studi Firenze, and the Goethe University Frankfurt.
