Designing a robust and useful process evaluation requires a good understanding of its basic components, key underlying principles, how to implement this type of evaluation within a randomised controlled trial, and appropriate methods.
Experienced researchers within the Institute of Health Research are engaged in conducting process evaluations in different fields, including within RCTs. See our process evaluation studies and publications.
If you would like to work with an Institute of Health researcher to develop or conduct a process evaluation, please contact in the first instance: Sarah Morgan-Trimmer (Research Fellow in Process Evaluation): (unless you wish to register a study with the Clinical Trials Unit in which case please contact them via this webpage).
We also provide training and seminars on process evaluation.
