There will be plenty of opportunities for participants to socialise and network throughout the conference. A casual pub quiz will be held at a pub in the city centre on the first evening and delegates will have a choice of activities on the second evening. A conference dinner will then conclude the week’s activities on the final night.
Wednesday Evening
Delegates will have the chance to choose between three social activities on Wednesday evening: canoeing, bowling and board games.
Canoeing
A pleasant 30 minute/1.5 miles canoe trip down the Exeter Canal. There will be the chance for a break and a couple of drinks at the idyllic Double Locks Pub before paddling back to Exeter’s quayside.
Bowling
Bowling is a fun way to get to know other conference attendees and your research peers. Join us for a friendly game of bowling in Tenpin, the largest bowling centre in Exeter.
Board Games
Board is a cafe in Exeter that allows you to play as many board games as you like for up to three hours. There are hundreds of games available to choose from while you are there, from famous classics to more intricate adventure games.
Thursday Evening: Conference Dinner
The conference dinner will take place on the evening of the 20th of June (Thursday) at Mercure Exeter Southgate Hotel, a 4-star hotel located at the heart of Exeter. It is within a walking distance to all main city attractions including Exeter Cathedral. Indulge yourself in a three-course meal with complementary wine, and coffee at the end of the dinner. The evening will finish off with a DJ and some dancing (optional!).
