7 Reasons to study at the University of Exeter Business School

1. You’re in good hands

EQUIS accreditation? Got it. AMBA accreditation? Absolutely. AACSB accreditation? Of course.  Combine all this with the fact we’re part of the Russell Group, we’re ranked as one of the Financial Times’ top 100 European Business Schools (2016 , 2017 and 2018) and we were awarded Gold Standard in the Teaching Excellence Framework, and you know you’re signing up to receive an inspiring education at one of the UK’s best business schools.

2. We’re absolutely focused on your student experience

We rank highly across a wide range of higher education rankings, but did you know there’s a ranking specifically for student experience?

The latest Times Higher Education rankings indicate how positively students feel about their University, and we are proud to rank 7th in the UK in 2018.

We really care about how our students are getting on. We make sure every student has a personal tutor they can touch-base with throughout their degree and on top of all the fun stuff, like sports and societies and an incredible gym, we’ve got a brilliant wellbeing team providing counselling and support. There are even staff to help you out with student finances, and launching your career.

3. Everyone is unique and your degree should be too

We know that you have unique skills and interests. We know that excellence comes from nurturing those abilities, and so we’ve built our degrees flexibly. We want you to own your degree, and so – depending on your programme – we offer a range of optional modules, and even the possibility to choose a language or a module from a different department at the University. On top of this, you can sign up to a work placement, year in industry, or a year abroad, allowing you to gain valuable experiences for your future career.

4. When you graduate, you’ll be in demand

A massive 89.4% of our graduates are in work or further study six months after graduation. For our Business and Management graduates this number is 96.7% (DLHE 2016). Our incredible Careers Team can support you in fine tuning your CV and in finding and applying for roles, and you can even join the Business School Alumni Association, meaning you can keep in touch with fellow graduates and support one another in your ongoing professional development.

5. We are truly international

We are proud to attract staff and students from over 110 countries and this is reflected across the University with cultural celebrations and dozens of international societies to enjoy, from the African and Caribbean Society, to the Asian, Hindu, Hispanic, Malaysian, Romanian societies (and more)! So it’s no surprise that we’ve been recognised as one of the world’s top 50 international universities in the Times Higher Education Most International Universities in the World 2018, and also won the What Uni? International Student Choice Award in 2015 and 2017.

6. You’ll enjoy state-of-the-art campuses in areas of outstanding natural beauty

Depending on your programme, you’ll either be based on our Streatham campus in Exeter or our Penryn campus in Cornwall, near Falmouth. Either way, you’ll have access to fantastic facilities in unique locations.

Exeter is well connected with an airport and fast road/rail links to London. The city itself is a cultural hotspot with plenty to do, and lovely green spaces to relax in. Falmouth is a vibrant town, which has recently been recognised as one of the best places to live in the UK (Great British High Street Awards 2016 and Sunday Times Britain’s Best Places to Live 2018).

Both our campuses have won eco-friendly ‘Green Flag’ awards, and are surrounded by beautiful beaches and countryside, so it’s no wonder we ranked 1st for campus environment within the THE Student Experience Survey 2018.

7. Our research makes us stand out – and that’s good for you

Choosing a research intensive university means your classes will incorporate industry leading knowledge delivered by world-class academics. 73% of our research is rated ‘world leading’ or ‘internationally excellent’ (REF 2014) and we’re at the forefront of ground-breaking areas like the circular economy.

Not only that, but researchers make amazing teachers – they’re passionate about their subject but also well connected with industry, meaning they can share not only their brainpower, but also their business contacts and experience.
