Funding as described below is available through the BRIM “Feasibility Fund” to support small research projects. It is available to the members of this network who are eligible for EPSRC funding.
• Pilot Studies: Up to £25K can be awarded for studies that will run for up to six months. These projects should aim to conduct original research on a specific topic, which could potentially lead to a full grant proposal at the end of the study.
• Embedded Research: Up to £5K can be awarded for research of up to three months. This will be for secondment of one researcher to another organisation, including, if relevant, policy organisations or international collaborators. For instance, this could be a placement during term vacation for an early career researcher or PhD student to use the host’s facility for preliminary study.
• Early Career Researcher Projects: Up to £5K for three months. This will be targeted at projects led by early career researchers.
• Mini-Project/Meeting Fund: This is up to £2K and for up to one month which can be used for short collaborative visits or for small meetings.
