Who do you live with? Alone with my cat Jooniper
How old are you? 35.
How do you like to make art? I like making art traditionally, especially working in sketchbooks. I use most 2d mediums, pen and ink, ballpoint pen, watercolor, acrylic, oil pastels, oil paintings, and do linocuts and monoprinting. I also especially like to make art digitally on my iPad Pro using the Apple Pencil.
What inspires you to do it? I have been drawing everyday since I was 3 years old. I’m inspired by nature, especially trees and mountains, city life, the urban landscape, and capturing people unposed going about their day, animals, color, light, and patterns. I love communicating through art because I feel that people understand what I am saying, there are no misunderstandings like there can be with spoken and written communication. I love the way my art makes people feel.
How is the film work going? It is going well. I am trying to be less detailed so that I may make the animation longer.
Can you tell us about anything new you are learning for this project? I am learning to animate, to be more abstract, how to tell a story sequentially, and seeing art in new ways and new possibilities for my art.
