We invite KS3-5 teachers to attend a CPD session on the theme of “Space Weather” on Tuesday 18th of July from 4pm-6pm. Workshops will be delivered by Dr Helen Mason OBE, a solar physicist from the University of Cambridge and Dr Ciaran Beggan from the British Geological Survey. They will demonstrate some exciting links between current research and the national curriculum, looking at aspects of solar and space physics, magnetism, UV radiation, atomic structure, Earth and atmospheric science. This will be followed by two public lectures delivered by the world-renowned speakers, Prof. Lucie Green from University College London and Dr Sanjay Limaye from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, from 6pm-8pm and a hands-on science fair in the Northcott Theatre.
