Universtiy of Exeter Internships, UoE Internships, SCP, SBP, GBP, A2I

What were your main duties and responsibilities during the course of your internship?

Researching 400+ university heritage collections to create a social media posting calendar that enables quick and effective publication of the archives in future years. Using knowledge of web analytics, Hootsuite, and data representation to create weekly social media reports and adapt social media strategies to increase Twitter follower base by 80%.

What would you say was your biggest achievement over the course of your internship?

Sharing some photos from the university heritage archive with the university and Guild and later seeing them on Facebook!

What benefits did your internship bring to your employer?

I developed the social media presence of Special Collections, both inside and outside the university, and helped encourage greater collaboration with the Guild and University. During my one term internship the Twitter follower base grew by 80%, and my four hours a week dedicated to Twitter meant we were getting a lot more retweets!
